This first picture was taken as the sun was setting from between two houses in Los Chaguaramos, Caracas. The darker golden-orange patterns are small houses, “ranchos” in one of the poorer sectors of the city. There are many such sectors and one can appreciate the extent of this one. What seems to be a brilliant gold light in the background is a mountain seemingly set afire by the last rays of the day.

Tomé esta foto mientras se ponía el sol, entre dos casas en Los Chaguaramos, Caracas. Los patrones más oscuros, dorados y anaranjados en la distancia son “ranchos” en un barrio en el sur-oeste de la ciudad. Lo que parece una iluminación dorada en el fondo es una montaña encendida por los últimos rayos del día.
