These pictures have certain implications:
1. Those who are responsible for the maintenance of the roads have not cleared the vegetation from the shoulders, an important prevention measure to avoid fires.
2. Those who use these roads throw bottles and still-lighted cigarettes out their windows. Furthermore there are accumulated residues of broken glass, plastic, and even construction rubble.
I took these pictures on the road that goes from Las Mayas to San José de Los Altos. It wasn't possible to photograph the fire that had already crept up the mountain and was at that moment consuming trees and bushes.
The second picture shows what is increasingly a portrait of the mountain views of the Mirandian Heights.

Estas fotos tienen implícito un par de comentarios:
1. Las autoridades no han limpiado las orillas de las vías a pesar del peligro de incendios en este periodo tan fuerte de sequía.
2. Los usuarios de dichos vías no se han preocupado, ni por la basura que arrojan de sus autos, ni por los cigarrillos todavía calientes que botan por sus ventanillas. Además hay quienes depositan grandes cantidades de escombros en las orillas y camiones que transportan desechos que esparcen papeles y plásticos por todo el camino.
La tomé en la vía que va desde Las Mayas hasta San José de Los Altos, ella demuestra sólo la parte inferior del fuego; el resto ya había subido por la montaña y estaba consumiendo árboles y arbustos, pero no pude fotografiar lo de arriba desde mi auto.
La segunda foto es un retrato representativo de los pasajes actuales de los Altos Mirandinos.
